What is the Foursquare Church?

We are a family.

The Foursquare Church is part of a diverse, worldwide movement that is changing lives in 140 countries. No matter where your travels take you, when you meet someone who is Foursquare, you’re meeting family. Our organization, has been known since its inception for the unique camaraderie shared among its ministers and adherents. We celebrate together what God has done among us and anticipate the great things He has in store for us.

We are a fellowship.

Founded in 1923 by Aimee Semple McPherson, The Foursquare Church has always had as one of its core values working together in the body of Christ to share the gospel with others in the nation. A plaque in the cornerstone of the historic Angelus Temple declares that we are “dedicated unto the cause in interdenominational and worldwide evangelism.” This cause is continued today.

We are the future.

The Foursquare Church has a constituency today of more than 10 million, with over 66,000 churches and 82,500 ministers throughout 140 countries. We believe this is only the beginning. With denominational initiatives under way to facilitate effective ministry and raise up future leaders, the best is yet to come. As Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” That’s a great reason for being excited about the days ahead.

We belong to a larger denominational family known as the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
